Brighton Confirmed for 15th December!

December 7, 2010

Among other cuts being imposed on us to pay off the bankers’ gambling debts, the government is making a massive attack on housing benefits. The proposed cuts, now under discussion in Parliament, will hit more than 90% of private tenants. If these cuts go ahead, from next October all rent allowances will match only the lowest 30% of rents in the area. This will penalise almost all claimants.

my husband and I were both made redundant within 4 weeks of each other and have now been unemployed for just over a year dispite repeatedly applying for jobs – we are 60 years and 57 years respectively – we have a mortgage of 4.89% interest rate but only get help with 3.63% and no repayment help what so ever – so as we fast approach (extended) retirement age we will most likely lose the home we have worked so hard for over the years.
