Manchester Protest Against Atos – 11th May

April 16, 2011

Wednesday, May 11 · 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Albert Bridge House, Bridge Street, Manchester

The latest ConDem plans to attack Incapacity Benefit goes to the heart of the governments agenda – make the poorest in society pay for the crisis. This is just one part of a much wider campaign to victimise and scapegoat those claiming benefits.

Atos Origin have just begun a £300 million contract by the ConDem Government to carry out ‘work capability assessments’ on all of those claiming Incapacity Benefit. The real purpose is to strip benefits from as many people as possible. We believe we should not allow these attacks to go unchallenged in the Manchester area.

We call on activists from across the movement – disability activists, benefit claimants, unemployed workers, anti-cuts activists and trade unionists – to protest against these attacks – WE WILL NOT PAY FOR THEIR CRISIS!
