York – Day of Action Against ATOS – 30/9/11
Friday, September 30 – 12:30pm – 2:00pm
St. Sampson’s Square, York
In line with the national call-out for actions against ATOS on 30th September (see http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=181940165210541), York Welfare Campaign are organising a protest and speak-out at St Sampson’s Square next week. Our aim is to raise awareness of ATOS’ role in the Work Capability Assessment, their profiteering from people’s suffering and the lives they have wrecked in the process. We will follow this by processing to the ATOS assessment centre on Piccadilly for a photo-call.
York Welfare Campaign was set up by members of York Stop the Cuts as a group committed to fighting the destruction of the welfare state both locally and nationally. We’re primarily concerned with attacks on the disabled, mentally ill, elderly and those unable to find work. Everyone is welcome to participate in our meetings and actions, regardless of ability or status.
