Fightback Against Atos Censorship!
The Carer Watch forums forced offline by poverty pimps Atos Origin are still not back despite Atos claiming to be willing to negotiate. It now appears that Atos are refusing to even state which posts on the site, a volunteer-run online meeting place for disabled people and their carers, they have deemed to be ‘libellous’.
This is the third website run by disabled activists and supporters which has been closed down by legal threats from IT company Atos Origin, despite no evidence that they have ever sought any redress via a court order. In previous cases Atos have objected to parodies of their company logo (legal in many countries and a grey area in UK law) as well as the phrase ‘atos kills’ and the name of the Atos Register of Shame website (now back!).
In this latest development Atos have closed Carer Watch without even specifying which content they found libellous. This is a worrying precedent and should concern all who use the internet as an alternative source of news. It now seems as if any website even vaguely critical of Atos can face having their site taken offline after legal threats to their server/hosting company.
This vicious attack is an attempt to silence disabled people from talking about their experiences of Atos’ disability assessments, which have led to thousands of sick and disabled people being wrongly stripped of vital benefits. This is all happening against the backdrop of a major Atos Corporation rebrand. Atos have a new logo, revamped website, new facebook pages and appear to have adopted a more aggresive approach to promoting themselves online. As they ironically will be managing IT systems for the paralympic games it is little wonder they want to hide the true face of their company – an organisation that has harrassed and bullied disabled people into suicide.
How to help
Since Atos seem so precious about their logo then online activists have been helping with their rebranding by suggesting a more honest corporate identity (see pics attached). If you have a blog, website or facebook page please republish the images, or come up with your own, in solidarity with the websites already closed. It is vital that every time Atos try to silence us we shout louder. The internet is good at that kind of thing.

I believe Google and Atos are not very keen on each other any way. Atos want to topple Google well they wont topple because they are just cheesing every one off at this rate. No one will want to go anywhere near Atos Origin IT in case it starts banning and blocking and pulling and censoring. After Atos says – if you can’t take it you should not give it out in the first place. You have been lying about the disabled image in the community for ages and nothing has been done about Atos misrepresentation and lies.
After Atos site is back up and running with link into feedback form for all those taking the Atos medical assessment. After Atos Aunty has not been quiet or inactive and has kept all informed and kicking bottoms as to what Atos is doing. Putting up the site was difficult as a learnign curve and Aunty is not web savvy. – and again got attacked and brought down a few times 5 times in one week of trying to put up. But now it is up but there is no login or forums. excellent forums found elsewhere and links lead to them. That way no one logs in and next thing site comes down.
So lets get the feedback in again the numbers are again starting to go up even though a week old this time at http://www.afteratos.com/

So the UK now has a company linked to the holocaust (Siemens) ruining its care homes and the rail network, Anywhere but Downing St, there are rules for businesses that advise a company (aka Cameron) from bidding on the business. Any govts more corrupt than the UK?
Good work – thought I’d mention though – doesn’t keeping this blog on wordpress.com make it vulnerable? Maybe you should try to host it yourself somewhere it won’t get pulled without your consent.

Atos is doing the work of a greedy government (for the rich only). They are targetting every sector of our society, dismantling it and trying to destroy the old, poor,sick and homeless. Millions died to stop Hitler doing exactly the same thing but in a different way, We stopped the poll tax – they only way is for the nation to act together.
I moved one of my sites http://www.notmo.org.uk to hosting in Iceland because of a complaint by an individual (not even a lawyer’s letter) claiming the site was libellous. The UK hosting company were going to bow down immediatedly and take my site down.
Icelandic hosting does not cost any more than the UK, you can use UK domains there, and anyone making UK libel threats will be told that it is Icelandic Freedom of expression law that applies not UK law. Please let Carer Watch know this as I do not know how to contact them.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
I am a deputy head of a junior school in a deprived city area and
I’m having a lot of problems with the effects of benefit
denial/sanctions on my pupils’ and their respective parents’ please
allow me to elucidate. Almost every day we are having to deal with
the effects of so so-called welfare reform and when I had to deal
with another extremely distressed parent today – who’s been
sanctioned for not looking for enough jobs – it was the last straw,
so my questions are:
Q1. Do you realise the effect that your sanctions and refusal of
benefits are having on the most vulnerable in our society?
These are some examples of the disruption caused to me and my
colleagues by the DWP because you have refused benefits to parents.
a) Children A’s mother came in the school and explained her husband
had been sanctioned on JSA and she had no money for the electricity
(she was on a pre-pay meter) to launder her two children’s
uniforms, nor did she have money for food.
b) Child B had to move home because of the bedroom tax, the parent
couldn’t move B into a school nearer to their home as they were
full to capacity, so they have to travel on a bus to school,
recently he couldn’t come to school because of benefit sanctions,
the mother said they had no money for food and the DWP said they
weren’t allowed any whilst her partner was on sanction.
c) Children C’s father is disabled, however, he recently lost his
benefits because you said he’s no longer disabled, children C’s
mother was beside herself with stress as she explained to the head
how her husband had had all his money taken off him and was denied
benefits for appealing against the decision, the situation became
that dire for this particular family that I had to get social
services involved to help them.
d) There’s dozens of cases I can relate to you, however, today was
the last straw when a single parent told me her daughter had been
absent because the sole fell off her only pair of shoes and she had
no money because of sanctions to buy another pair.
Q2 Why have we i.e. teachers’ got to be social workers because you
are denying benefits? Do you realise the devastation you are
causing to the most vulnerable because of sanctions, etc? Because
it’s a proven fact:
• Parents’ can’t feed their children or put clothing on their backs
• Take them to school due to lack of money
• We can’t find school places for families constantly on the move –
we have refused a lot of families a school place that moved because
of the bedroom tax.
• Our social workers’ are frazzled and overworked because we have
to keep asking for their help for our pupils whose families are on
sanction.
Q3 Are the DWP going to pay schools for the disruption you are
causing parents’ and the whole teaching profession?
Q4 I realise your motto is make work pay and the taxpayer shouldn’t
have to fit the bill for those that don’t want to work,
notwithstanding this, I and my colleagues are taxpayers and you are
making our lives very stressful and our jobs much harder with your
draconian measures and teaching isn’t the only profession to be hit
by problems caused by sanctions/denying benefit (a neighbour of
mine is a paramedic who recently had to attend to a
diabetic-disabled person that hadn’t eaten for 3 days because he’s
disability had been stopped and he’d no money and this isn’t an
isolated case) so my question final question is why are you
needlessly sanctioning people? And have you any idea what effect
you’re having on
(i) Children?
(ii) The teaching profession?
(iii) The medical profession?
(iv) Social Workers?
What do you think this is costing the taxpayer? And society in
general?

@ EVERYONE !!!! I knew this was going to happen, just didnt know when, since claimant blogsites have become popular i knew before long that the govt and their lackeys would retalitiate with counter blogs..well here is just one….
let me say first that pretty much all the ”facts ‘ can be shot down..with eg the the sheffiled hallam one of which i am familiar by now (its the 900,000 one) the author of this disreputable blog omits the fact that the people who were on incapacity were LEGITIMATELY placed there due to the severity of there conditions..i note he quotes them as the ‘hidden’ unemployed which is what sheffiled hallam says in the report but he just leaves out the part that they were on IB because of their illness NOT what he claims..
I just wonder who is behind this shit with their ‘FACTS’..

Hmm UDC is about business training systems ..
HCPs – Name and Shame, is a blog I have started that attempts to list all the HCPs that carry out WCA and PIP assessments for the DWP via Atos, Capita, and any other companies that are shameless enough to take on the contract.
